the kindred way

Positive reinforcement

  • I use kind, reward-based training to make learning a fun, positive experience for your dog—and help families build trust, not tension.

Clear, two-way communication

  • Dogs are communicating—its our job to listen! Building that back-and-forth creates confidence and calm on both ends of the leash.

Strengthening the bond

  • Your connection with your dog is unique and personal. I’m here to help deepen that bond, not judge the behavior.

Realistic expectations & consistency

  • Perfection isn’t the goal—reliable progress is. We’ll meet your dog where they are and build routines that work well for your life.

  • My role is to help you understand not just what to ask of your dog, but when and why it’s likely to work. You’ll learn how to read the environment, recognize your dog’s threshold, and choose the right strategy—whether it’s training, management, or adjusting expectations. With that knowledge, you’ll become a confident, consistent leader your dog can rely on.

Respect for natural behavior

  • Dogs are not robots! Every dog comes with their own personality and instincts—including those shaped by breed. I take all of that into account, working with your dog’s natural tendencies to create training goals that feel realistic, motivating, and right for your family.

Family first

  • Life is busy. My training supports the whole household, helping you find balance at home.

Seeing the whole dog

  • One size doesn’t fit all. We look at the whole picture—history, environment, personality—to better support your pup.

  • I bring years of hands-on experience with rescue dogs, understanding the unique challenges they may face as they adjust to life in a new home. Whether your dog is brand new to home life or just needs help settling in, we’ll work together to build trust and progress at their pace.

Empowering through education

  • Understanding how dogs think and communicate changes everything. We’ll work together to discover the “why” behind the behaviors so you feel confident and equipped.

  • Education surrounding reading canine body language. Dogs are incredibly skilled at reading us, yet many of their signals—especially signs of stress, discomfort, or appeasement—often go unnoticed or misinterpreted by humans. Learning to read their body language can completely shift how you respond, build trust, and even prevent unwanted behaviors.

Always learning

  • I stay up to date with the latest in dog training science and industry conversations so my methods are always evolving—grounded in what’s current, kind, and effective.

No force. No fear.

  • I don’t use fear, pain, or intimidation—ever. My methods are rooted in trust, science, and compassion.
